Carson Boyd, (born July 13, 2007) is an American High School quarterback for the Cardinal Ritter College Prep (CRCP) School in St. Louis, MO. Carson (affectionately known as Cart’Dawg) stands 6 feet tall and weighs 182 lbs. In the 2021/2022 season, Carson started his High School Career at the renowned East St. Louis High School(ESL Flyers) where he was the backup Quarterback for an 11 and 3 Flyers Team that lost the Illinois High School Class 6 State Championship game.

In 2022/2023, Carson’s Sophomore Year of High School, Carson joined CRCP, and they won their first ever Missouri State High School Championship (Class 3) by going 14 and 0. In the 2023/2024 school year (Carson’s Junior Year of High School), CRCP won their 2nd consecutive Missouri High School State Championship, as they again went undefeated (14-0), but this time it was a Class 5 State Championship.

During Carson’s tenure at CRCP, he split time with a NCAA Division 1 Quarterback, but still managed to win All-State honors in his Sophomore Year (2nd Team QB) and his Junior Year (1st Team QB). Carson was also awarded the Class 5 Missouri Offensive Player of the Year by the Missouri High School Coaches Football Association.

On the Football Field

Carson’s overall completion percentage is a whopping 80%, and because he played 50% of the time in his sophomore and junior campaigns, the world has yet to see what a full year as a starting QB looks like for Carson. However, if you were to combine his two split seasons into one complete season, Cart’Dawg would have thrown for 3,734 passing yards and 57 passing touchdowns (compared to only 3 interceptions), and he would have rushed for 1,138 yards and 9 rushing touchdowns. In total, Carson would have amassed 4,872 All-purpose yards and 66 touchdowns, which would have had him at the top of the leadership board in all statistical categories nationwide.

On the National Scene

From a national ranking perspective, Carson is a 3-Star athlete; however, he is ranked as the 13th best Dual-Threat Quarterback according to the National Recruiting site Rivals, and he is ranked as the 15th best Dual-Threat Quarterback according to ESPN’s recruiting rankings. Additional recruiting sites such as 24/7 Sports, have Carson Ranked as the 40th best quarterback in the Nation, while the On3 National Recruiting site has him ranked as the 60th best QB in the Nation. However, Rivals,24/7 Sports, ESPN, On3, Prep Redzone, Six-Star Football, QB Hit List and other ranking sites have Cart’Dawg as the number 1 High School Quarterback in Missouri.

Carson competes nationally against the best quarterbacks in the country and is often acknowledged as the best, or one of the best, QBs in participation. Prolific camps and events that Carson has attended are the Under Armour Camp Series, the Rivals Camp Series, the Elite 11 Camp Series, and the OT7 (7 vs 7) Camp Series. Carson played well enough in those events to have his name called at the conclusion or closing player acknowledgments.

University of Illinois

On January 27, 2024, Carson committed to the University of Illinois as their 2025 Quarterback. Carson’s one of a kind commitment video explains his reason for the commitment.

Academics And MorE

IIn addition to Carson’s athletic accomplishments, he was also named as a 2023 Academic All-American by the High School Football America (HSFA) association. So although Carson is a great High School Quarterback, he is also a straight “A” student, a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Carson is an absolute joy to be around, and an overall great young man as best illustrated in his docuseries UnApologetic (see UnApologetic tab).
